Senior Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer

This is a fully-remote, full-time position.

A brief overview

You will work with a multicultural team with different talents, experiences, and various skill sets to find creative and inventive solutions and help you grow your career. We work closely with agronomists, data scientists, sales representatives, etc., who come together and help the "farmer" (Growers) make the best decisions by analyzing data from models that map the areas where these farms are located.

For our future data engineer, our data stack is based on the concept of Modern Data Stack using the ELT approach, SQL/Python, DBT, Data Warehouse, and Power BI. 

What you'll do:

• Model the data layers to provide an organized environment to enable better insights, KPIs, and analytics;
• Ensure the availability, quality, and accessibility of the data for all the company;
• Data reconciliation across different systems;
• Work cross-functionally with different parts of the development center to support the data needs of different teams;
• Develop, test, and implement various scripts, algorithms, and code when necessary;
• Work on AWS Cloud environment (S3, RDS, Redshift, Lambda, etc.);
• Transform data with DBT or Python.

What you'll need:

• Experience as a Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer;
• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with NoSQL;
• Knowledge of modeling Datawarehouse (Star Schema);
• Python programming language;
• APIs (Rest or GraphQL);
• Experience with ETL/ELT data pipeline tools (Airbyte, Fivetran, Stitch, Hevodata, etc.) <maybe this is a bonus>;
• Experience with DBT;
• Knowledge of a Business Intelligence tool (Power BI, Superset, Tableau, etc.);
• Experience with code versioning (GIT);
• Advanced English;
• Proven ability to work in an independent manner with minimal oversight, and to work across teams and partner well with people with diverse professional backgrounds;
• You are eager to learn, a conscientious worker, and a thoughtful, kind, supportive person that enjoys sharing your knowledge with your colleagues;
• You value team success over personal achievements;
• Problem-solving, troubleshooting, and interpersonal skills;

Bonus points if you have 

• Knowledge of any Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google, etc.);
• Experience with data catalog/data quality tools;
• Experience working with remote and distributed teams;
• Good understanding of Agile and Scrum;
• Knowledge about Geographical Information System (GIS) and experience on manipulating GIS data (PostGIS, GeoJson, GeoPandas);
